Description Annnnnnnnd this is the last Reaper.  Also, the hardest.

So Ninja Ripper can rip from the Sims Freeplay using an Android emulator called Nox (or at least a prior version of it, the latest didn't work very well).  It rips everything in a scene perfectly ... or at least that's what I'd like to say.  Scenes are extracted, but they're extracted posed AND their uv layer (the texture map) is completely destroyed.  Things that animate are not ripped in a T-Pose either so ... yeah.  And the Sims Freeplay?  Everyone is in constant motion.  Even if they're just standing around.  And the standing pose for everyone has every single joint moved!

So it took a long time to get this model right.  Even if it's just MOSTLY okay.

What's more is that I had to compromise some on getting it to work within the Sims4.  The models in this game actually have super large hands and heads!  So those had to be shrunk down.  But, after doing so, I think I have something I can be happy with.

Slider DO work! (As this is not a skeleton.)  HOWEVER, I wanted to keep the model as true as I possibly could, even with the vast amount of compromises I had to make. So the Sim just doesn't quite "get" where the gut is - because it lacks the sheer amount of vertexes it needs.  I thought about it and getting it as right as possible was worth that trade off.

Also, there are some clipping issues in some poses.  *shrugs*.  I did my best.

Those notes aside, I'm surprised at how good this model looks in the game!   Enjoy fellow Sims Grim Reaper fans!  You can either have multiple Reapers that all look different now or at least give you Reaper a change of clothes for a number of occasions.

Why is there a brown swatch?  Well, for some reason when I put the texture in Photoshop I got that odd brown colour.  I was able to work around that, but I figured I may as well add it in as an option.

The mesh has been edited, but no true progress was made.  When making this I had to use an Android emulator - Nox.  So I never noticed that the bottom of the skirt was wrong - it's supposed to be torn up!  I tried, and failed, to add that in - the SimGlass shader is sucky and limited.  But, in the process, I finally figured what was going on with that part of the mesh and why it was unwrapping so oddly.

Well.  Did you read about all the trouble I went through reconstructing ALL the UVs because Ninja Ripper didn't export them correctly?

Well it turns out I'm an idiot and just didn't use the program correctly and that alllllllll that work was for nothing.

Yeah.

Ugh.

So, if you set the imorter's manual uv values to 78 people usually export with their UVs intact.  Way too large, but intact.  So, future modders, there ya go.  You do not have to manually reconstruct things like I did.

What did I do after this?  Well, the mesh had changed.  There's no easy way to just plop the values in there anymore!  All that's left ... was to copy and paste the UV coordinates for each UV from the correct UV I ripped a few days ago to my incorrect UV map that I spent a month reconstructing all day.  Was it worth it?  Is there any difference at all?  I mean you can kinda tell if you compare them side by side.  And, dammit, I want this as perfect as possible!  So goodbye months of my life!  I'll never get you back.

You're welcome.

Added a spec map, which I hadn't realized was important even if you don't want a thing to be shiny. I eliminated LODs that carried duplicate meshes.   Most importantly I edited the mesh to be more complicated at the highest LODs so the morphs look good while also making the lower portion of the skirt less complicated to avoid annoying clipping issues.  Originally I wanted to keep this as true to the original as possible, but I still had to shrink the head and hands, so I don't know why I was fine with those clipping issues.  They weren't so bad since Grim floats, but still.

Oh well.

Sure.  Of course, it's like any CC - if the person doesn't have it it won't show up on the Sim.

Oh, you mean the model?  Sure.  But it's difficult.  There's a program called NinjaRipper that can rip from games with DX9 graphics.  An Android Emulator (Nox 3.8.3.1) can run Freeplay an can be ripped from.  With a little work you can extract your sims.

I made replies on a thread at Modthesims on the subject.

Thank you for this - it will work perfectly with my reaper legacy founder!
