i saw this last night when my comp froze, and i was like 'that's gorgeous, and i have to comment on it' and so i am.
very nice piece. a bit too big, and a lot of unused negative space, that doesn't look very good, sorry to say. i think even if you wanted to use the negative space so badly, you could have used it better, rather than just one big patch on one side, also taking into account, there is another patch on the opposite side at the bottom. i'm not sure if you were trying to balance out the piece, but if you were, you could have done it other ways. i'm not talking about what you did really, because i have no experience in that, i'm talking about what i thought as a non digital artist could not have been there. all that negative space is just a waste of space really, and i don't mean to be rude. it just is there and doesn't do the viewer any good, and being where it is, it doesn't even help draw your attention to the piece, partly because in full view, it doesn't even fit on my screen, i have to scroll to te right.
but anyway, it is a gorgeous piece. very smooth and metallic. it's extremely realistic. i could just imagine reaching out and touching that, and (i think) it would feel like cold metal. the atmosphere you've created in this piece is very interesting. i could see this in a futuristic movie or film just because of the cold tense atmosphere around it.
