Description
After many years I'm getting back into painting miniatures....This little bugger is a Necron Wraith, a cold and soulless killing machine, well it will be when I finish the paint job!
I'm using a mix of blue and rust colour washes over a dark metallic to suggest its ancient yet alien construction. I've picked out the top of its head in a lighter colour to reinforce the skull-like shape.
Anyone here collect and paint miniatures?

Dam it's so hard to capture the details and correct colour of this mini, any tips from you fine folks out there?
Came out a little better now using the Macro feature on the cam, still his alien blue tint ain't showing through.....
Thanks for the tips folks, just need to finish this tinker now!

I remember as a kid I always wanted one of those model Harrier Jump Jets but I never did. The newest artwork on the box covers are real good!

I also started to collect them again, but I kind of stopped a bit when my exams started... I collect Nurgle as I love to paint them and they can be awesome to play as too

Thanks! I used to paint these models as a kid but felt like getting back into it. The official artwork for Warhammer is insane, definitely the designs and concepts that got me in to the hobby.

When I used to collect I envied other peoples Necron armies. My poor miniatures got coated with black paint. And that's it. Even my monolith...sigh. My fire warriors were better though.
Any way will be nice to see this finished.

I really like the look of a mini under-coated in black if that makes any sense haha!
The artwork on the Necron codex cover and minis packaging depict these machines in black and dark grey which look awesome.

Yeh, don't you just love that swamp diorama as well! Where the machines are coming out of the mud. I wish I could recreate that.

Yeah that scene is awesome! I may add some fine gravel and sand to their lower legs and bits along with a nice rusty wash to give the impression of them emerging from the ground...

But he had a lot, and he had some of those flying beetle like wraiths. They had huge cannons >:3 he spent all day painting lightning on them. Good stuff!

Nothing in particular, mostly I just browse all of the brands mini's and see what looks cool. Although my characters tend to be human/elf/half-elf.

I collect. have several armies I'm working on but I have a complete Chaos Space Marine army. In fact I'm doing a big Apocalypse battle tomorrow, should be fun. Anyway I heard that Necrons might be getting redone (rumors, plus none of the necron metal models got converted to citadel finecast, very suspicious)
