Description
I'm nose-deep in commission work right now, so here's some old stuff to tide you guys overWhen I say old...I think that sig says "04," so I was still in college. I think I was trying out a more realistic approach in this one. As I recall, this is actually based on a photo of Ronnie Coleman. Since I VERY rarely do anything even close to realistic anymore, I hope you guys enjoy this.

I actually used a photo of the great Ronnie Coleman as reference, so I have to credit Big Ron for that bicep

Cool. Would love to see what kind of damage that bicep could do against an opponent.

to my knowledge I believe there have only been 4 live human actors to actually dawn the superman suit
*George Reeves
Bygone Tv Era Superman who first appeared on Chronomatic Television
back in the 50's and then the series lasted until the late 50's early 60's
the show got replay in the 70's and superman was then in color.
*Christopher Reeves
First appeared back on the scene in the Early 80's
in Superman the Movie which was followed up by several sequels
*Dean Cain
Dean Picks up where Chris left off however
this series was more like the college years and early work years of Clark Kent/Superman
and his Love interest Lois lane whose name by the way almost mirrors that of Clark's
High school love interest Lana Lang
Many say that i should include The lead character from
Smallville however the character has not yet dawned the SuperSuit
Lastly,
*Brandon Routh is the New kid on the block to pick up and dust off the super suit
and from what i saw of the film he does a great job portraying Clark Kent/Superman

Ray Middleton, a Broadway song and dance man, was the first actor to play Superman in the early '40s, albeit for public appearances.
Kirk Alyn played the role in the movie serials of 1948 and 1950.
John Rockwell played the role in a live-action SUPERBOY pilot that never made the airwaves.
Bob Holiday played the role in a 1966 Broadway musical, and David Wilson played it in a low-budget TV movie adaptation of same.
John Haymes Newton and Gerard Christopher both played the role on the late '80s SUPERBOY show.
Michael O'Hearn played the part in Sandy Collora's fan film project WORLD'S FINEST.
Scott Cranford, the official Superman of Metropolis, Illinois for several years, also played him in a number of fan films.
Paul Hasenyager played him in the fan film GRAYSON.
Add it all up, the total comes to 14 actors who've actually suited up in one way or another. If we count Ben Affleck, that makes 15. And I wouldn't hold my breath on Welling being #16. Even the showrunners have admitted they can't convince him to wear the tights and cape.

Actually, I think the total for all the live actors is about 16 so far. We'd be hitting the 20s if we started counting the voice actors.

Well done, sir! That was a fine bit of correction. It's unfortunate when some choose to make statements as absolutes when they clearly haven't done the research. Well, we all live and learn.

i never made any statements sighting any absolutes I just said "to my knowledge" and my knowledge was obviously in error.

Oh, and if we count Billy Curtis as Bark Bent/Superpup in the SUPERPUP pilot, that makes 16 actors as Superman already. Which would mean Welling would have to be #17, should he ever be forced to wear the costume.

There was a Superboy tv series in the late '80s, and another guy played him in the old serials from the '40s. And technically Ben Afleck donned the suit too, but he was playng George Reeves, not Superman
I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that Tom Welling dons the Super suit before Smallville ends. Ma Kent has already made the suit, and it's just sitting in the barn! PUT IT ON, CLARK!! The one he's wearing now on the show looks jackass!!

Yeah, I know what you mean! My parents have pictures of me as a three year old sporting a Superman cape. He was my favorite comic book hero before I even knew what comics were.

The same...
Before X-men, and alpha flight, my two favorites team heros saga, there are the Inhumans (fascinating science-fiction team hero), the legion of super heros, the Champions, and so many forgotten team and alone heros from the seventies and eighties. Very big nostalgia...

I understand why he's called "Big Blue" but for some reason I always think of red when Supes comes to mind. Must be the cape.
Nice work on this. I may swipe it for some ink

Someone at DC agreed with you at some point, cuz his S shield, his logo, and all of his branding are red! Our eyes always register red before blue, and the red comes forward in our field of vision. So naturally, when we see superman, the first things we look at are that S and that big ass cape
Hey, if you want to throw some inks down, go for it! I'd be honored!
