Here's a little thing I've been warming up with for a while. It started out as a design exercise, to see if I could portray the characters from Kung Fu Panda as humans, and still keep them recognizable as the characters they are. Of course, these two are the easiest ones, but I never got around to the furious five or either of the villains.Related content

I think Po needs to be a bit softer, he is quite obviously a strong mo-fo here. More like a Sumo wrestler; a lot of them look pretty flabby until you see them in action.
Still a great picture though.

I would still watch the show, and Po now looks like a profession Strong man.
And Shifu reminds my of the Crazy strong transforming Demon from Gantz

Thanks! Yeah, that was kind of my take on Po. In the movies, it's sort of shown that his size and natural power are what make him threatening in a fight, despite the fact that he just looks like a jolly fat guy, so I played that up. I actually just got around to watching the newer CG Gantz on Netflix, and man, that old guy is creepy!! I can see a resemblance, but mine is a little more based on the old guy ninja from Ninja Scroll.

People have been doing this a lot, and for some reason they always draw Tigress looking like a Ballet dancer...

I originally wanted to include the five and Tai Lung, but it seemed like I just never had time to work on this piece, so I just posted these two. I think if I were to take on Tigress, she would look pretty much like Michelle Waterson (she's a kickboxer/mma fighter). I think I might even giver her tattoos to emulate her tiger stripes. That's just a thought, though.
