Description
The Kingdom of Sindthney in 857 a.A.World Map
Overview
The Kingdom of Sindthney is one of the few independent states in Borem. Its located in western Borem, south of Askol, across the Kun-Strait. It borders the colonies of Porto in the east, and those of Boree in the west and the Union of Kapa lays just across the strait.
The Kingdom is a Parliamentary Monarchy, with a King as the Head of State and the "Chamber of Assessors" as legislativ body.
Sindthney is part of the Sonian league and has a special relationship with Brisbache .
Its capital (and biggest city) is the City of Sindthney. 800.000 people are living in and around the capital, which is a fifth of its total population of around 4 million Citizens. Most of Citizens of Sindthney speak a form of Kuviran, which can differ strongly from the dialects spoken in Brisbache or Colonia.
Sindthney can be divided into 3 (or 4) main regions:
The northern region is called Lower Sindthney. Lower Sindthney encompass nearly all of the Givin-Peninsula. Most of the oldest and richest cities of Sindthney can be found here. Notable Cities are, besides the City of Sindthney itself, Brenda So and Tu Hamla. Some people also divide the peninsula into a "inner" and a "outer" part. Inner part means living on the coast of the Bay of Almatey, while outer part means the other side of the Givin-Mountains, at the Kun-Strait. These divide is more cultural as people form the inner side are known as arrogant and show-offs, while people form the outside are often portrait as rude and laconic.
South of lower Sindthney is Upper Sindthney. The cities here a younger than the ones further north but they rose to prominence in recent years as industrial manufacturing and economical thinking spread across Sindthney and more and more factories are opening in the booming cities of Upper Sindthney. Most prominent example of this development is the City of Jezaha which grew from a small village to a industrial city in less than a generation.
The biggest but least populous region are the Lowlands. Less than a million people are living on the plains of southern Sindthney. The regions economy is dominated by small scale farms and ranches, with some fishing on the Jed Lake.
The unofficial fourth region are the Hyante Islands. They are officially part of lower Sindthney but the local Hippari are enjoying high levels of autonomy, as the many small islands and tribal communities are too hard to govern from a central location. Instead the goverment of Sindthney simply chose to buy the loyalty of local leaders, by "employing" them to keep the islands free of pirates. Or at least protecting alliied ships.
