Description

Note: I originally made this for the purpose of making a comprehensible map for Age-of-Shadows , but this could also be used as a general resource for fans of Deltora Quest. Be aware that some of the locations on the map aren't exact/present, due to limited resources.

Index:

  • Del - The capital of Deltora, home of Del Palace. Del is especially dangerous as of late due to the Shadow Lord's presence in the city. The coast is off limits, so this isn't the best city for a beach day to say the least.

  • Os-Mine Hills - Named after the man that discovered them, these hills have a wide array of bird and plant life.

  • Withick Mire - Once a beautiful and green city, it's years as a garbage dump under the reign of the Shadow Lord gave it the crude nickname "Stink City". It serves as a resistance stronghold too, but shhhh!

  • Wenn Del Path - A path leading into the Forest of Silenced. It's named for the Wenn, which dwell near the path while hunting.

  • First Wood - the first and most dangerous part of the Forest of Silence, populated by Silence Spiders, Coffin Trees, and Wenn.

  • Mid Wood - The middle part of the Forest of Silence.

  • End Wood - The safest part of the Forest of Silence, located entirely in Ruby Territory.

  • Raladin - The city of the Ralads. The path into Raladin isn't common knowledge, which is meant to keep the Shadow Lord and his army away from the city.

  • D’Or - Described as extremely beautiful, D'Or is a large golden city with fountains, gardens, and tall buildings.

  • Ringle - Once a large market town in Ruby Territory, Ringle has since dwindled in population.

  • Purley - A small town relatively close to the border between Ruby and Opal territory.

  • The Painted Plains - A beautiful plain named for its rich carpet of flowers and grass.

  • Capricon hills - A hill range southwest of Broome, said to be where the Capricons live.

  • Broome - A rather young town near the sea, it's inhabitants being descendants of castoways, pirates, and sailors.

  • Dragon’s Nest - A bowl-shapped hollow north of Broome. It's name comes from its shape, as the people believe it to look like a Dragon's nest.

  • Hira - Better known as the City of the Rats, Hira was abandoned after a rat plague overtook the city. The city is surrounded by the Hira plains to the North and the River Broad to the South.

  • Noradz - Where the citizens of Hira fled to. Cleanliness is key in this society, and so much as accidentally spilling food is punishable by law.

  • Miller’s Rise - A market town located in southern Opal territory.

  • Tom’s Shop - Everything for the traveler!

  • Riverdale - A town south of Happy Vale located alongside the River Broad.

  • Happy Vale - A town abandoned a long while ago. It's clock tower still runs, but the windows of the buildings are covered in dust, and it's plaza fountain is dry.

  • Charity - A small and pleasant town that lies west of Happy Vale.

  • Rithmere - One of the few towns in Lapis Lazuli territory and home to the ever popular Rithmere Games.

  • The High Wall - The Mere built this around the Shifting Sands so it wouldn't spread through the rest of Deltora. It seems pretty high of a wall.

  • The Shifting Sands - A large desert, populated by the terrifying Terriocti, or sand beasts. Heading into the Shifting Sands is very dangerous, especially considering what lies in the center of the massive desert...

  • The Funnel - A chasm hidden underneath a waterfall, located near the northern border of Lapis Lazuli territory. It's said to lead to the center of Deltora.

  • The Barrier Mountains - A mountain range separating Deltora from the Shadowlands. They make up the entire nothern border of Deltora.

  • Shadowgate - A small town built near the only entrance to the Shadowlands.

  • The Shadowlands - Once called Pirra, this land has since been corrupted by the Shadow Lord and transformed into a dark and ominous wasteland.

  • The Dreaming Spring - A magic spring where the Kin will hibernate during the winter. Drinking from its waters allows one to visit any place they wish while they sleep, a form of astro-projection if you will. Drinking from the spring turns those of evil will into trees.

  • Kinrest - A small resting place near the base of Dread Mountain. The Kin rest here when traveling between the mountain and the Dreaming Spring

  • Dread Mountain - The biggest mountain in the Barrier Mountain range, it's home to the Dread Gnome tribe. Be careful, as creatures from the Shadow Lands are known to appear here if they escape.

  • Western Stronghold - Located near the western base of the Barrier Mountain Range. It's one of the Resistance's two known strongholds in Del, and is only accessible through a crack in the mountain. You'll need to give the password to enter, though.

  • Where Waters Meet- A small town near where the River Tor and the River Broad meet.

  • Bone Point - A rocky tongue of land that sticks out into the silver sea. It's famous for the Bone Point Lighthouse, which leads ships safely to shore.

  • Tora - The city of the Torans, long since abandoned after their vow was broken to the royal family.

  • Maze of the Beast - A dangerous cavern of cave systems located under a sheet of rock near the shores of Amethyst territory. It's named for the Glus, the so called beast that roams the maze.

  • Dead Man’s Rock - A rock off the shore of Amethyst territory that's been eroded into the shape of a skull.

  • Dreaming Dunes - A beach in amethyst territory that mimics the waves of the ocean. Also known as the Sleeping Dunes.

  • The Finger - A flat peninsula of rock in Diamond territory, surrounded by the silver sea.

  • Jaliad - The capital of Diamond territory, and the only large city within the territory. It was the home of the Jalis tribe until they were slaughtered and enslaved by the Shadow Lord.

  • The Valley of the Lost - Previously known as Haven Vale, the Valley of the Lost is a valley blanketed in eerie mist. No animals live in the Valley.

  • Blood Lily Island - Also known as the Scarlet Island. It gets it's name from the blood lilies that grow in abundance on it. Watch for fleshbanes!

  • Isle of the Dead - A tall, rocky spire located west of Blood Lily Island. The waters around the Isle are very rough, making it dangerous for ships to traverse it.

  • The River Tor - Said to be the most beautiful river in Deltora, many boats travel up and down it. There are many foot paths and camping locations along the river bank, along with small villages on both sides.

  • River Broad - A river that get's its name from its width, only able to be crossed by boat.

  • The River Del - A clear, swift flowing river that flows from the Os-Mine hills down the western side of Del and into the ocean.

  • The Mountain Road - A road near the Northern Border of Del that borders the Barrier Mountains.
