Quick sketch/color of Optimus Prime damaged from Transformers The Movie. His death scene is probably one of the most memorable moments in any movie to me because I saw it as a young kid. I plan on going back and doing this digitally though. I can't draw Transformers at all, really. I have problems with straight edges. Plus I didn't use a reference for Optimus. I drew it completely from memory so I probably got a lot wrong with the legs.-laters

Optimus prime's death made me cry. When i saw an interview with the people who made transformers said that when this scene came up every kid was crying and everyone was leaving the theatre. I keep wondering what peter cullen thought of it, i think he was pretty shocked.

I'm not ashamed to admit it, but everytime I watch the original movie and have to watch Optimus die, I cry. This is an excellent and well detailed depiction of him battle-damaged for sure. He may of died, but he surely went out fighting. Great job.

Awesome pic! It really captures that mangled Optimus look. You should do one with Megatron too.

Ah I'd like to do Megatron, but he's slightly more complex than Optimus with all his cannon attachments and everything. I'd need a a few references to do Megatron. Maybe I'll watch the movie again today and observe intently.

Yeah the smaller thumbnail does look a little bit better because of the quick, sketchy style of it. I tend to like to look at everything in full view though. Thanks for the comment.
