I worked....for nine....consecutive hours on this piece, only stopping long enough to take potty and snack breaks. This came out amazing. I am SO proud of this!

Here's a little story: When it comes to me and art I am amazingly impatient beyond comprehension. It's why I only did about two or three layers for my art, used the fill tool, burned and highlighted and that was it. Lately, I've been obsessed with coloring art to perfection, and wanted to know how artists did such awesome coloring and shading of different shades and such. Every tutorial said you needed a BUTT LOAD of layers and I had no patience for that and never did it. Very early tonight, I finally decided to try it. A usually three layered creation turned to a 33 layered one. I spent most time on the color balance tool, trying to make both Nim and Zim blue tinted but keep their colors. With 33 layers, that was VERY time consuming... I'm most proud of the amazing shading of Zim's uniform, and Nim's epically shiny hair. A lot of time when into splatting different colored splotches all over them and then carefully blending it to the rest of the bodies. I now see why artists waste time on such little details: look at the result! And a usually two to three hour creation turned to nine. The end XD

This picture is meant to have a sense of peace to it, and they're meant to be mouthless blushing chibis. They're in space I guess. Cute, eh? It makes me feel so tranquil and calm when I look at it..
