Okay it's Kyo and Kazuma Sohma, I got the feeling I should explain who they were meant to be
If you look closely you can see Kyo's beads but that probably isn't enough of a clue.Although he's a minor character really, I like Kazuma/Shishou and how he dotes on Kyo. I love the fact he has no sense of flavour lol!
This was inspired by book eleven, which I've just finished (omg don't get me started!!) but I loved this one shot of Kyo as a child letting off fireworks. From the anime we get the sense that Kyo was unable to leave the house or do anything much before he went to live with Kazuma and I can believe Kazuma was the one to open Kyo's eyes to a lot of new experiences.

Um I drew sketches of the characters first then painted them black, the grass was done the same and I drew every blade with different brushes
The bubbles are on the top layer, they were grey to begin with then each bubble has three different colours in them. I then used extreme brightness contrast on them to make them stand out the most

beautiful pic, nice atmosphere with the background colours and the bubbles (whee, shininess!) I like the idea of silhouettes, simple but powerful. I knew it was Kyou and Kazuma before I read the description, probably due to Kazuma's ponytail and his traditional clothes.
I agree with ya, I love the relationship between the two. I was moved to tears at the part where Kazuma lifted Kyou up to "breathe the air from higher places" (yes I'm quite emotional...)

Aw that got me as well, it really makes me laugh wehn Kazuma cuts off his pony tail cos he wants to be a proper dad to Kyo, there's this really great scene with Tohru staring at him going Aw what a waste and he doesn't have a clus what she's talking about
Kazuma pulls the best expressions, he can be really dopey!!

Now, it's true that all kinds of "adjustments" come to me when I look at it, like a more consistent colour of the sky, or the bubbles being blown away spiralling in between the characters so that the would thing wouldn't be so vertical... but that's just me. ... I _can_ just look at the piece without commenting and appreciate it in case you're wondering by now

it's weird how I can replace entire words with completely different ones... like up there I said "would thing" instead of "whole thing" 
Other than that, if you redo the sky after all, it would be nice to see it
