Hm... I'm guessing you read the manga instead of watching the anime? Because Ayame only appears in the anime but.... anyways! Ayame is a female wolf demon who is the grandaughter to the leader of the Northern Wolf Tribe. A long time ago when she was little, Kouga rescued her and promised to marry her. So, now Ayame wants Kouga to go through with his promise but Kouga doesn't remember and is after Kagome as you know... At the end of the episode though, he remembers though he pretends he doesn't *rolls eyes* and that's about how it goes. I think they were filler eps and I think that's about the only time we see Ayame. At least... from the episodes I've seen... So... yeah.
