The parasite didn't want to waste time looking for the Heretic, instead it made every effort to bring the Heretic to it. It went on a rampage through Los Angeles, spilling the blood of anyone that got in its way. Maria watched in horror as the parasite used her hands to deal out so much death and pain.

After what seemed like an eternity, and after the local law-enforcement and military was exhausted, did the Heretic show up. "Arthur, whatever you do, don't let this thing survive! Do whatever you can to kill it!" Maria screamed through her warped and altered vocal cords.

Arthur unsheathed his blades. One swipe would be able to inject enough nano-probes to do the job. He took a moment to pause, realizing that he was gambling that the injection might not work at all. However, he resolved that he was going to save Maria.
