Description The two days and nights since she ended her last foe seemed to drag for years. Darkness was anxious to find a new foe, some one that could offer her a challenge. That's when she found him.

Glistening on that massive propaganda screen was a man that was only known as The Heretic. He stood as a nearly lonely symbol against the current theocratic regime. This meant he was powerful. The anticipation began to overwhelm Darkness and the alien organism responded by growing new appendages from her back... Tools that would surely aid in killing this heretic, and everything that he stood for.

~notes~
I decided to do some tweaking to this villain's design simply because the more I wrote and illustrated for her, the more I realized she was taking on a life of her own outside of the symbiotes and the Marvel universe. She's still very much a woman bonded to a symbiotic organism that is not unlike Venom or Guyver, but she is her own entity now. She's no longer a fan entity within the Marvel universe, and she will have new foes. Original ones. Let's hope that this will prove to be a compelling setting.

HOW DID I MISS THIS ONE.

I did something similar recently with my two symbiote characters. Β As Marvel fan characters, their dynamic was the strong brutish one and the quick flexible one. Β I wanted something more original that I could use without copyright issues, and something that's a bit more interesting. Β So I turned one of them from a living suit to a technologically based suit (I didn't know about the Heretic character when I came up with this so please don't think I just copied you). Β This totally changed the dynamic with them, technology vs nature, though not really vs so much since they become partners after a brief fight (it's like a rule for superheroes). Β Basically the two suits (well the biological one is actually a slug-like thing that burrows beneath the skin, attaches itself to the spinal cord, taps into the nervous system, them sprouts biomass that covers the host body) were made by a black government project trying to make supersoliders without having to genetically alter people, essentially changing it from volunteering for dangerous genetic surgery to "hey, you wanna play with the new toys?" Β But the guy who came up with the idea wanted to make heroes, not soldiers, so had the suits stolen and delivered to people who would use them properly.... sorry bout the huge post. Β I like your work and think these characters are really interesting.

Thank you for the comment! For these two characters, they are wielding technology that was used in a war thousands of years ago. Each suit is from a different side of that conflict. The strategy for both sides of the war was to rapidly convert as many enemy troops into their own and vice versa.Β

Now that sounds interesting. Β I'm trying to focus less on loss of control and more on the interaction between two similar yet wildly different characters. Β The two human characters are not just foils to each other, they're foils with their suits, with the Nanosuit being run by a military AI, and the Biosuit developing intelligence from it's bond with its host.

Are the suits in your fiction of human origin or extraterrestrial like in mine?

Human origin. Β Black government supersoldier project that was co-opted from a well meaning scientist, who has the suits stolen upon completion and given to people who would use them for the right reasons. Β Of course, the military wants them back but can't act in any official capacity due to the classified nature of the suits, so they hire someone they can disavow all knowledge of. Β And of course that bites them in the ass cause this person wants the suits for his own experiments.

Thank you! Right now I'm kind of working on the prequel centering on the Heretic. I've been working on both of their stories for a while.

Really awesome! She kinda reminds me of my OC XenoGirl.

A teenage girl who wears a suit that bonds to her skin and makes her like a Xenomorph.

I'm glad you like it! There are certainly a lot of cues I took from the xenomorph design for this lady. She's kind of a 'Venom meets Xenomorph' design overall.

I agree.

You should read my XenoGirl stories. They are quite good.

interesting ! So, her metamorphosis is progressive ? Β What about her host ? Is she willing for this new transformation ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

general-sci In reply to Geoffiction [2014-02-13 19:10:02 +0000 UTC]

At this point, the host is very willing for this new transformation. The host doesn't even remember her name at this point as well, she simply calls herself 'Darkness'. When she was first bonded, she went drunk with power and got even with everyone she felt did her wrong. By the time she got to her last victim, she couldn't even remember what that person had done. She only knew that person had to die.
