Backstory: Born and raised in the borderline tiny town of Russell, Kansas. Ryan’s parents owned one of only two gas stations in the town. Where Ryan’s older brother Branden also worked after school. Ryan was a popular kid in school and spent his time like any other guy in town. Playing football, dirt biking around the fields, general stupidity that stems from being in such a small town. Even with all of it though Ryan didn’t exactly enjoy himself. He knew he didn’t want to be there anymore. Especially as he started to realize he was into guys sexually. Knowing the majority of people in town were homophobic.

By the time Ryan was almost finishing high school, he was in class when the school had every senior take a special quiz. The questions and basis all suggested it was merely to suggest career paths to take once finishing. Ryan didn’t think a ton about it, just answering honestly as he didn’t know what he wanted to do. Just more wanting out of the town as the idea of taking over the family gas station sounded awful. A few weeks later Ryan was called into the principal's office. There he ended up meeting some US government officials.

The test he had taken, while helping with career paths decisions, also had a much more deeper focus. Using it was a means to find and recruit young men and women who showed the characteristics of a superhero. When Ryan had to remind them that he didn’t have any superpowers or even know how to fight. He was told that he would be given powers, and any expenses needed to move to whichever superhero team they felt he was most needed with. Ryan didn’t even think twice about accepting.

A few months later, after leaving a Government lab with newfound elastic powers. Ryan was moved to Central City to join the city’s big superhero team The Sentinels. Officially known as Elastic Jack Ryan got along swimmingly with his newfound teammates and friends. Although the pay was great, Ryan also took up a job teaching at a preschool for extra income. Overall life is great for him now. Ryan loves teaching young kids and has really come to love his superpowers. The only thing that is missing is not having the time to look for a boyfriend.
