I have a question; I've noticed in alot of manga-inspired artwork (like this and Gold Digger, for example) that the male is always a tiger and the female is either always a cheetah or leopard, and I'm wondering where exactly this trope originated? Is it something endemic to Japanese culture that was picked up by Westerners once manga made it to America and if so what is the significance of the "Male Tiger, Female Spotted Cat" dynamic? Or was it something that originated in western culture, but became attached to Anime and Manga culture when the latter finally made it to North and South America, Canada and Europe?Β

If I could make one observation though, it looks a bit 'off' the way she is holding that sword.
I think it's due to the thumb being in front of the grip rather than behind it. Looks like she is only holding onto it with 3 fingers.

This looks like the visual representation of a fish story told round the bar. Almost intentionally, unrealistically flamboyant. But the art is quite good nonetheless. Well drawn, and well done.
