I would have to agree with you on that one. I wanted to make sure his position was very expressive, so I had to draw bigger and longer. It was a bit of a challenge, since I've never really been huge on drawing in-motion.

Drawing comics has indeed taught me that bigger and longer is the only way to properly draw characters. It's the only way you can make them expressive enough to convey what you're trying to convey. So yeah, bigger faces, longer limbs, etc are all necessary elements if you want it to work.
I think I'm seeing an improvement in my own work already, from the first page of Peer Pressure up to the current one, I've definitely changed some things for the better.

Funny you mention that -- I'm already noticing new ways to improve my art just from drawing these two Tutorial pages. I'm still making changes to my style, and I'm knee-deep in explaining it!
