This orchid is a very common one but I never tire of its beauty. Fortunately it will be around for me to enjoy for weeks more as one branch has not even started to open. Hopefully I will also get more chances to photograph it.Related content

I have to watch Hawkeye because he loves checking out all my plants. Actually this pot has two different orchids in it but I wasn't happy with the results of the second one. I will keep trying.

Yes, if they don't try to play with things, they like to walk through the middle of them. Neither is in any plant care book I've read.

This orchid is really top heavy as it is very tall and has multiple stems with two flowering. I'm afraid if he pulls on any part of it, down it goes. I have tried putting it in a not to easy to reach location but still need to watch him. For being cross eyed he sure can get into a lot of things.

I don't have any suggestions except to possibly lock it into a Christmas tree stand. That won't prevent walking through it.
