“Keep going you bunch of pussies!!” You yelled at the group of younger cadets.

You smirked as they groaned. ‘They’re weak right now, but I can see potential.’ You began to walk to the offices.

“Cadet [Last Name] reporting!” You said after knocking on the door.

“Ah, [Name], come in! I have to talk to you about your progress.” The head of training responded.

Your eyebrows furrowed at this. ‘Progress? Surely he means the cadet’s progress….’ You slowly opened the door to see a rather short man with smooth black hair and grey eyes. His lips were set in a frown as you walked in.

“What took you so long,[Name]?” He grumbled.

“L-Levi? What are you doing here?” You said shocked.

“What? I can’t visit you?” Levi glared.

“N-No it’s just been so long……I never expected to see you until next week..” You whispered.

You had met Levi one day in town while running errands. He had helped you when you dropped your apples and your friendship had developed from there. You had promised him you would join the Survey Corps when you graduated.

“Tch, I never knew you were so weak.” Levi sneered.

“Well, it’s not MY fault I have to help out around here!” You yelled back.

“You could’ve said no! You graduated five days ago!”

“Has it ever occurred to you that I have other friends that I haven’t seen in years and I missed? I wanted to see them!! Is that so wrong..? Now they hate me…..” Tears brimmed in your [e/c] eyes.

“I-I-I….[Name]…” Levi reached out to touch your shoulder.

You pulled away as tears began to fall.

“I thought I knew you better, Levi.” You whispered.

Levi’s eyes dimmed and he turned away from you. At this, you began to walk out the door. Once you were outside, you let out all of your sadness and began to bawl. A tall and slender young man saw you and carefully approached you.

“A-Are y-y-you alright M-Miss [Name]?” His meek voice said.

You looked up with puffy eyes and shook your head.

“W-Who are you anyway?” You sniffed.

His faced heated up and he looked away from you.

“I-I’m Bertholdt…D-D-Don’t you remember when I introduced myself…” Bertholdt murmured.

“Ah. Now I remember you! Sorry, I don’t exactly have the best memory..” You smiled
lightly.

He blushed again and offered you a hand which you gladly accepted. Bertholdt pulled you up and into his chest. He then wrapped his arms around you and embraced you.

“U-Uh, what are you doing…?” You blushed.

Bertholdt snapped out of it and released you.

“I-I’m sorry Miss [Name]…” He whispered embarrassed.

“It’s fine.. You just surprised me a bit.” You smiled at him.

He blushed again and began to walk away.

“Wait!” You called. “Thank you…”

Bertholdt only gave you a slight smile before turning back and walking away.

‘He’s cute…..but there’s something familiar about him…’ You thought.

Your thoughts drifted back to Levi.

“Argh. Why do have to lose everyone..?” You said sadly as you ran your fingers through your [h/c] locks.

You began to walk back to the training yard with a scowl on your face.

“Chop, chop! I don’t have all day” You yelled at them louder.

“Is it just me or is she angrier than before?” Armin whispered to Eren.

Eren shrugged and looked up at you. When he locked gazes with you he noticed a strange look in your eyes.

‘Is she..sad?’ He thought.

He looked around at his fellow cadets and saw that Jean, Bertholdt, Annie, and Reiner were looking at you as well.

“I wonder what’s happened..” Eren muttered.

“What did you say?” Armin huffed.

“N-Nothing! Don’t worry about it!” He assured Armin.
