Description
Here's the promised tutorial on making artificial fire, the tutorial was written for Paint.NET as that is the software that I use but I'm fairly certain this is transportable to Photoshop and possibly even GIMP.For a life sample, I used the fire as a background to Dante's Inferno

Well it was the first time I used the RGB curve thing to colour it, and I din't understand that entirely, but after playing around with it a bit I got a good result.

Yeah, you really need to de-cloud the cloud effect so to speak; it doesn't have to be a dozen times, just enough to mix it up and to get to where you like it and where it represents most the fire you're trying to create. I usually go for 14-16 times, but in PdN it is really easy to repeat the effect at the push of a button.
