As to who pilots this experiemental XV9 Hazard suit is unknown. Rumors speak of an aged veteran who is more machine than Tau. Others say it is a younger, quiet soldier whose insane battle tactics boosted him through the ranks of the Fire Caste with tremendous speed. The most discredited rumor is that he is in fact a she.

Shas'vre Rymora Tyrse, though her sept name is lost, is a strong and bold battlesuit pilot. She exibited strong will and courage in the face of the Imperium of Man but died at the hands of a Venerated Dreadnaught, her Crisis suit torn limb from limb and crushed utterly and completely. At least... that's what the official reports say.

She was exumed from the remains of her suit, injured, but very much alive. She was removed from her sept army and subsumed into The Black Hand, a secret elite army of the Tau known only to a select couple of ethereals. When she recovered enough to be of use of the Greater Good, the Commander of The Black Hand, Mirage Walker, gave her a new suit dubbed the XV9 Hazard Experimental Battlesuit. Thus was the end of her old life and the beginning of the new.

The Black Hand is rumored to have Eldarian and Imperium Inquisitor connections but has yet to be proven, even by the Water Caste of it's own.
