Sascha slowly opened his eyes drowsily, closed them again, nodded off for another 10 minutes, then the little bear cub yawned heartily and stretched.
Daylight filtered through the closed curtains, letting in enough light, but barring the view outside.
"Hey champ, up already?"
His stepfather was peeking his head through the door, his tufted ears must have picked up the low noise of Sascha yawning and moving around in the bed.
"Uhuh" Still a bit groggy, he wasn't exactly a morning person. Well, sometimes at least. "Fink so..."
"I guess it's almost breakfast time then." The lynx was smiling down at his adoptive son. "I thiiiink I can organize you a big mug of hot chocolate." He said with conspiratorial grin on his face."
"Yay! With Marshmallows?"
"Of course with Marshmallows. Is there another way?"
"Nuuuhuu!"
Sascha slowly crawled out of the bed, grabbed his plush lynx Sammy and started his way towards the kitchen. He didn't get very far, tho, when he bumped into his stepmother.
"No so fast, lil one." She only needed one look at him to assess the situation, then she gave the bear-lynx hybrid him a big motherly hug and a kiss to the cheek, which brought out a soft, kitten-like purr.
"I'd say there's a pit stop waiting for you, before breakfast, little puddle-bear."
"Muuuuuum" Sascha whined a bit, but was quickly silenced by a purely playful swat on his padded backside, which had no other effect than a little ploffing noise. "Off you go."
Needing no further encouragement he toddled behind his mum into the bathroom, where he got the announced pitstop and was put into his normal daytime pull-ups.
"Can you manage dressing on your own, big boy? Then I can make breakfast … if your father hasn't done so yet."
"Uhuh. Sure. I'm big boy, I can do that." He stuck out his tongue, then started dressing himself. He got as far as putting on his shirt, hoodie and collar, then he kinda lost interest and just dragged his pants behind him as he toddled into the kitchen.
Now for the first time, he noticed that it had snowed massively overnight, with a thick and fluffy white blanket covering everything outside.
"SNOOOOOOW!" he exclaimed, literally bouncing up and down.
Without wasting anymore thought or before anybody could really react, he just hopped into his thick snow boots waiting in the hallway, grabbed the steaming mug of hot cacao with a generous load of Mini-Marshmallows in it, Sammy and a scarf … then he was already out in the garden, squealing in delight.
"Wait, pants first!" his mum called behind him.
"NUUUUU!"

Aww.. what can I say… it's so adorable :3
Aaaand I think somebody forgot his pants. Or at least, was too excited to play to put them on. But I don't think anybody could be mad with him because of that :3
