Appearance > Night's scales shimmer with different shades of dark blue. Her wing membranes are the darkest shade of blue on her body. Her glowing stripes are a sea green, and her teal eyes glow as well. Her glowing eyes are a part of her she can't control, as well as the starry scales on her wings. She has NightWing spikes on her head and neck, but they turn into SeaWing webbing the further down they go. They have gills on the sides of their neck, and their back feet are webbed, while her front talons aren't. She has a silver teardrop scale at the corners of each eye to symbolize her NightWing empathy power. She almost always wears bandages on her arms, legs, and tail to prevent herself from picking at her scales, and she has a hooded cloak she sometimes wears. She's tall for a 6 year old, as naturally tall as a dragonet can get. At night, her colors change to black and darker blue, and her eye become greener. Her wings are a bright hot pink and the glowing stars turn red. Her stripes become a vibrant rainbow of colors, and she has additional glowing pink markings on her scales.

POWERS > Nightlight is a NightWing empath. She has the signature teardrop scales under her eyes, and whenever she's in the same room or area with someone, she mentally feels the other person's emotions radiating off of them. This makes it really easy for her to empathize with her peers and get a better sense of what they might be thinking about, even if she can't read their minds. She can also breathe underwater, make her stripes glow at will, and breathe a large amount of flame once. If she breathes too much fire at once, she must recharge for 24 hours before she can do it again. Her eyes and stars on her wings are always glowing, and she cannot control them.

SKILLS > She's excellent at drawing because she loves doing it as a hobby, and her older brother had gotten her interested in it at a young age. She's also good at talking someone out of a fight or an argument, as she is a pacifist and tries to reason with others, rather than fight.

Chill > Most of the time her outward and inward attitude is calm, not really caring about anything much. She tries to stay calm, even in tense situations.

Lazy > Nightlight sleeps. A lot. She spends more tie laying about doing her own thing than moving around. She's pretty tired most of the time.

Emotional > Sensing others' emotions isn't all it's cracked up to be. She can get pretty emotional in stressful situations, and it often leads her to thinking irrational thoughts and making herself cry.

Clingy > They're very emotionally attached to those she's close to, and also love physical affection. It makes her feel loved and supported. All she wants to hear is that everything will be ok.

Temper > Night does have a temper, and can easily get impatient. She often shows this side to those they dislike.

Anxiety > Despite her calm demeanor, she sometimes gets anxiety attacks, thanks to anxiety disorder. When this happens they have trouble keeping their food down, and often pace around the room, trying to take deep breaths.

  Compulsive > Night's got issues with some compulsive habits like picking and dusting surfaces with her talons instead of a rag. If she gets the urge to dust something or pick at a scab on her arm, it's hard for her to ignore it and it feels like something is left incomplete when she doesn't do it.

Baby Dragonet > Nightlight was hatched in the same place her older half-brother Viperfish, in their small house in Mezzo Town. Her parents, Tuluaq and Angler, were dazzled by her brightly colored scales, and named her Nightlight because of how her wings and scales seemed to sparkle after hatching, as well as after her NightWing heritage. She was often looked after by Viper because her parents were almost always busy working to provide for their kids. She would always try to cheer up her brother whenever he was sad or in pain because of his hyperdontia. She would draw small scribbles on paper in her free time, and Viper taught her how to actually draw simple things. She went to a small dragonet school in town, and made many friends, mostly other NightWings and Seawings. She tended to stick to the same social friend group, but would open up as much about her anxiety or her picking. She developed quite an artistic talent, skilled in traditional drawing, oil pastels, painting, and graphic design, which could be beneficial to earning a spot in the University sometime in the future. Others began noticing her picking problem, and she started going to counseling for her picking habit and anxiety, where she would learn methods to prevent herself from doing it and finding distractions. Her parents would always point out her picking if they saw her doing it, and would recommend something else for her to do with her talons, like making art from scratch or playing ball with Viper. She began going out of town more often with her older brother to watch her, and was eager to explore all her surroundings.

Dragonet > When she became a dragonet, her parents began searching for a school that could teach their daughter more than they knew, and have contacted an old family friend that used to be in the Alliance to see if she could have the opportunity to study there. They have not heard anything yet and are currently waiting for news to come. She's old enough to be trusted to go into town by herself, mainly for shopping trips or visiting her school friends. She's developed other hobbies like reading, going on nature walks by herself, and singing to herself if she's alone.

Nightlight has dermatillomania, which is a minor form of OCD linked to skin picking. She picks at her arms, legs, and tail, and she has great trouble controlling the impulses she gets. I gave her this because I struggle with it myself, and Nightlight is supposed to be a character than represents me in a way. I also struggle with anxiety disorder, so she has that as well.
Dermatillomania in Night is picking at scabs that are resulted from gaining accidental bug bites, hurting herself by accident, or scratching at an itchy bump for too long. She does it because she likes the feeling of dead skin/scale under her claws, and it gives her a brief sense of relief. She doesn't do it to intentionally hurt herself, and she only leaves dull/discolored spots on her limbs. She's trying to slowly improve herself and stop this habit by wrapping her limbs in bandages and finding an item to fidget with as a distraction.

Her anxiety used to be an even bigger problem, as she would get worried over the most irrational of things. (Death, accidentally choking on her food when swallowing it, getting a random heart attack, etc.) She ends up getting a really bad stomach ache that normally leads to her losing anything that was in her belly, as well as uncontrollable shaking and a habit of pacing back and forth. At got really bad for her at age 3 when she began losing weight, so she now has a prescription for anxiety medication. Since then, she has greatly improved, and only has a couple attacks per year.
