Not really. Her colors are drow-like, but there's a lot of variation available for tieflings that was never there for drow.

I wouldn't call them evil, per se. Apparently tiefling breed true, so if one of your parents was a human/elf/eladrin/whatever, and the other was a tiefling, you're going to be a tiefling. You have an ancestor many many generations back who made some sort of infernal pact, but PC tieflings can run the full range of humanish personality types.
They do seem, however, to be pretty popular.

I don't think so. Rules in the back of the monster manual make playing as drow much more accessible and reasonable. (I was really impressed by the implementation of the new rules.) The drow's racial powers seem perfect for the drow, and make them very distinct from the tieflings.

I don't have access to new rules yet. Again, I've meant it the same way fashion designers say "pink is the new black", that is tieflings take Drow place as the most popular evil race.

I think our group completely lacks a warlord. We're all light character heavy, except for my paladin, and she's not a very heavy paladin.

It's fun to play if tactics are your bag, although not much glory, since it's basically a support class in fighter's clothing, as it were.

That detail is awesome, It would be nice to see that char in action and painted ^^
