SURPRISE!
I knew as soon as the movie was done I wanted to update this chart, since I made the last one a little premature. We've got the additions of White Diamond and Spinel, as well as some character development from a few interesting places. Plus so many characters having out of date designs was going to be annoying. I really had to think about a few of these, but ultimately I'm very happy with how it turned out. If you've been following the last three charts, you know what comes next: I try to justify some of these weird decisions!

Spinel and the Diamonds- "But Ghostpaint! Why are Spinel and the Diamonds still so low on the list? They're all redeemed now!" To that I say
"not narratively possible!" In all seriousness, I don't believe character development happens at once. While the Diamonds have changed the way their empire works, it seems entirely motivated by making Steven happy, not because it's the right thing to do. I also put them on different rows because I think they've made different strides, and if there was more to it than that during the time skip it wasn't immediately clear in the movie. Blue is closest to 'good' because her words and actions during 'Change Your Mind' seemed to point towards her being a little more empathetic than the others. And while White was the worst pre-time skip, she's definitely the least redeemed now as far as I'm concerned. Evil doesn't necessarily mean you're actively working against the good guys, nor does it mean you're trying to take over the world/Universe; it's what you believe. Again, her actions are motivated by helping Steven, but that's still ultimately because she gets something out of it.
Spinel, similarly, isn't completely changed either. She said it best herself: "you can't just make everything better by singing some stupid song!" They made SOME things better by doing that, but not everything. Spinel is in a place now where she can work towards being a better person, but just minutes prior to that she was trying to declare Steven and declaring how that was the main thing driving her. Therefore, until we see more of her, Rebel Impure is where she stays.

Sadie- In the last chart I made a point of saying Sadie and most of the other human characters hadn't had significant character development. I realize now that was a bit shortsighted. Sadie has made tremendous character development, casting off her old ideals when she realized they were misplaced and harmful to her. Also, I think the latter portion of her and Lars' character arcs were meant to mirror each other to some extent, and I had Lars as Rebel Neutral last time because he was a literal rebel. Now, where he seems to have settled into a more quiet life on Earth, Sadie's only cemented her changes by developing her 'Sadie Killer' persona. Therefore, here seemed like the perfect fit for her.

But what are your thoughts! Do you have other ideas about any of my choices, new or old? Are there other cartoons/franchises you'd like to see me tackle? I want to hear everything you have to say!
