And you wanna know what the saddest part is? I think I could actually make that work. Just ditch the futuristic elements from Kortan's army, maybe add in expies of some other Highlander villains as bosses, and you're about halfway to a decent X-pack that still scales things down like Blizzard apparently wanted.

I feel like my idea could be one of Spoony's "Reasons I Shouldn't Write Screenplays." That's only the second "Reason" I discovered today. Earlier, like this afternoon, I started righting something I called "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Shattered Glass"; it was gonna be like the Transformers sub-franchise, with the Mane Six as evil distortions, i.e. Applejack as the corrupt head of a factory farm, Fluttershy controlling monsters to terrorize villages, Spike as a savage beast, etc. Thankfully, sanity suddenly and without warning re-assumed control, and I dumped it all into the netherworld.

They can still turn into dragons since they ARE dragons. They just don't have the powers the Titans gave them way back when anymore. They spend THOSE powers to destroy Deathwing, and in doing so, are no longer immortal.
