Its finally done and I'm really really pleased with Mai's new reference. Personally compared to her old reference this for me definatly takes the cake. I tried to include every detail that I could possibly fit in (right now I need to rush off and finish college work) but ill re-read this over and edit any mistakes I come across but I just had to get this up ^^. I'm going to be lazy and copy and paste the extra info which I wrote on her old reference.

Anyway her new reference this took me about a week to finish (in between college studies). I've included some old pieces of her so it would make it more visually interesting .

*Information added on last reference which still counts to this newer version:
Ok now before anyone comments saying shes some sort of "sparkle dog" or whatever you guys like to them these days. Her blue tribal markings have been painted on -and they are not part of her original fur-.

I would also like to thank many of the people who helped me out on decideing the pose and her anatomy etc. I have based Mai on my real life adopted wolf "Mai" who is a resident Mackenzie valley river wolf at the UK wolf conservation trust. (website at [link] ).

Mai's tribal markings were inspired by a few cave-paintings I have researched for my studies, I chose the colour blue because it stands for "loyalty" or "protection", in some cases. Also the significant pattern around mai's eyes can symbolize "spirit talker" or "a never ending lifespan". (yeah I reasearch into these things a lot while I study further into my character designs). While developing Mai I was studing these painting at Creswell crags, in yorkshire england. (website at [link] ).*
