This picture means a lot to me.Everyday I come on to dA hoping someone will notice my art, leave me a message, watch me, anything just so i know that someone cared about my artwork even for a second. Normally this doesn't happen. Usually the only messages in my inbox are "thanks for the Favs" and Favs. (which I could care less about really) So if you come across this please comment or comment and fav. Avoid faving and running (even though most people still will) I could talk about the personal symbolism more but I don't feel like it at the moment
Anyway The binary code actually means stuff. I put a "/" in between each word and "//" between each phrase.
If you can actually figure it out I will do something special (probably draw you something

Thanks to everyone who comments on this saying something along the lines of "I can connect to this" "I've felt this way" because it means a lot.
It's really made me feel like I've actually made my mark on the world and it's a small one (for right now) but it really makesme happy and feel like a true artist.

I love the drawing you have here. The coloring is awesome, and I like the binary part too. (Even though I'm too lazy to try to translate it. XD )
As for the message, I could not agree more. I hate it when you post a deviation and immediately have a fave on it. This picture is amazing.

The drawing says many things to me.
I was hoping to draw this for my girlfriend using Facebook graffiti (We're over 10,000km apart at the moment and I miss her dearly).
If I give you full credit for the idea (As well as a link to the graffiti when I'm finished) would it be okay with you if I replicated this (Replacing the character with myself)?

Well, here's my graffiti'd version of it... I tried to do a different transition between both sides of the screen. Facebook isn't letting me post it so I just screen-shot'd the page.

Someone posted a link to this on Facebook today, and wow, this means so much to me. It really touched something significant to my life, so thanks, I suppose, for sharing it here. Just the other day I was thinking about how pleased I am when someone retweets my tweets, or comments on a fic I've written, or replies to something I've posted somewhere. I have a lot of trouble connecting with people in reality, so there's something about connecting online, even in small ways, that means more than people realize. I love the way you've expressed this and made it seem okay. Beautiful work. And again, thank you for posting it. :3

Anyways, I think this is a truly great piece because, really, it show the truth. Through the internet we're able to find a hand to hold, or help, or praise too when normally in reality we may not be able to. And if we are, any praise we get can easily be forgotten since it's not written down.

Real art doesn't need explanation or even title! Just looking at it you understand the message and suddenly starts to fell the loneliness of the virtual relationships.
I love how we can connect to the world through the web... however it is sad that we are starting to get more connected to virtual and distant people at the same time as we increase our distance from the people that are right beside us...
A few years ago I would jump into my car and visit friends almost everyday... Now... I send an email and sometimes stay more than a month without visiting them... this is sad...

What is our relationship to technology going to be like in the future?
What is the AI (or perhaps even "Super AI") going to look like if it ever comes to fruition, and more importantly - what will it DO?
How paradoxical it is that we are becoming more connected, yet it seems we have never been so distant from one another... If this is so, is this sociologically and individually good or bad news?
What exactly IS "social networking" going to become as exponentially accelerating change just keeps on roaring forward?
Are we going to have fewer and fewer close (in person) relationships as we become more and more connected to the inhabitants residing in cyberspace?
...This is a pure Gem of deep insight and creativity. I love it.

I understand how you feel because I feel the same way.
But I'm not going to give you my sob story so don't worry
I'm happy that you've gotten a DD for this, because it is
something that a lot of people can relate to. I always
thought things like this and am glad someone put that
feeling into art.
I do love how you portrayed this, with the hand going
through the laptop screen. I just wish I had the patience
to read binary
