Description
People occasionally ask me how I got as good as I am. Although I'm far from the best fan-artist out there, I thought I'd make this helpful guide to help people learn the process of constructing a cartoon character out of simple shapes. Also, this joke is so very old.Related content

Actually, I never drew any circles to start a sketch I just drew what I saw. Without circles with lines in them.
I never understood this technique with circles with lines in them :/ I am weird

Some people need the circles and lines to create a more efficient sense of space. Others like you; probably have better depth perception

Drawing good circles is actually fairly difficult and takes a lot of practice.

I do the body first and the face last... of course I also use a heck of a lot more than one circle too XD

Funny.
I can draw the most cute looking circles but the pony eludes me.
Must be those 4 hooves.

LOL Wow... Helpful... Great Fluttershy picture, though! I usually just draw the head as a circle and skip the circles on the body. I draw the head first, then just draw the body the way I visualize it.
