You have no idea how much of an eye-opener this was for me.
Thank you. I may owe you my future as an artist.

No guidelines at all?! You just make it happen?! God...to have real talent...it must be amazing...xD

That's exactly why this tutorial is useless. But it doesn't necessarily mean I got talent. I just don't have any technique.

TommyOliverDraws In reply to Skutchi [2012-07-23 02:45:47 +0000 UTC]
I wouldn't say useless, there are a lot of people who are good at simply visualizing the final image in their heads and don't need guidelines (my sister being one of them...damn her...), so for people like that looking to improve their technical skills this can prove useful!

i also use no guidelines, you just have to practice, i didnt know much about guide lines when i first started practicing, so i got used to it XD

Awesome tut but I can't do any of it! Gosh, my artistic ability always abandons me when I try to draw ponies. Maybe after looking at millions of pony pictures and other peoples styles and practicing I'll get it..

Skutchi In reply to jotablu [2012-06-21 22:07:27 +0000 UTC]
Don't feel bad about not being able to use this tuto because it's actually just a joke. It's not useful at all, it describes pretty well how I draw ponies but it's obvious that it has no technique to bring, basically all it does is showing how a pony looks like in that show.
And, well, maybe. But I must say, probably not, because the only true way to get better at something is to do it and practise, you know, because drawing is about bumping into details or shapes that are pretty difficult to draw, and fail again and again until you somehow manage to draw them well. At least that's what it's about for me.

Yeah, helped me a lot. Maybe you can make another tutorial? For perspective onto a pony or something like that.

So, this is "how to draw in a specific pose". But, it gives an idea on how to do it correctly.

Yeah haha, it probably doesn't help at all.

Well, you're right... Make one with those things of circles and stick figures... like you do it, duh.

Skutchi In reply to Troncomovil [2012-01-25 23:35:15 +0000 UTC]
Well that's not how I draw ponies. This tutorial show how I do and not how you should do.

If you have no other way to show how you draw ponies, I do not care. Yeah, this has the basic, and is well done.

Wait, no...
Anyway, thanks for the tutorial. Not quite as basic as most, but definitely useful in its own way. And silly. Errpony loves a silly tutorial.

Hmm... that's different than how I do it... I start with basic shapes like circles, ovals etc. and then draw the finalized lines over that... but yours turned out amazing so I'm fine widdat!

The nose and hind legs always give me the most trouble, too.
It's interesting to see how different people begin their drawings in different ways. Lyra's cutie mark isn't what I remember! I like all the fun little notes. "Whoops" on her hair. XD
