Its nodachi, not daikatana. Daikatana was a mistranslation created by taking the word dai (big) and katana (sword). However Nodachi and Odachi (the two weapons are different despite the similarity in names) mean the same thing. The reason why daikatana isn't a current term is because it was created by a bunch of game programs that thought it sounded cool without realizing there already was a great sword.
Also, did you know that tachi is a more accurate name for most Japanese sword. Though the difference between tachi and katana are semantics, it merely refers to how the sword is worn when sheathed.
Cool character design though.

Hehe, yup... he's a superhero (sorta, theoretically... kinda), and Marvel and DC tell us that superheroes have to have bulgy thighs! 8B
