While I agree with the over sexualized part, I must point out that Nintendo originaly intended for link to be the player's choice in terms of gender. They just didn't know how to make a top down 8bit link look like a girl. And really, how could you? Lol. But with that in mind, there are a TON of incarnations of Link.
