If there is one problem people have with the middle seasons of The Simpsons, it's "Jerkass" Homer. A version of the main character defined by his inconsiderate and anger prone nature. Unlike with earlier seasons, he usually gets his comeuppance if he acts this way. If there's a big example of Homer being a jerkass, it's without a doubt his actions in The Simpsons Movie. And that movie is praised to high hell (despite its obvious flaws) and nobody seems to condemn what Homer's actions in the film. Which I would contend are much worse than anything he's done in the series. Like forcing Bart to skateboard naked or dumping a silo full of pig feces into the lake causing the town to be sealed under a glass dome. I might make a review of the movie for its 16th anniversary (yes it's that old) sometime in the future and calling it '16 Years of Dissapointment'.
