Description
I went on a trip to the moon,to realize my dreams.
I followed the light,
Walking and driving all night.
The night was ending,
And the moon was fading.
I stopped and stared at my dream,
Evaporate into the beginning of tomorrow
I wish the moon was a little closer,
Just one night away.
But I guess my dreams are not real,
If it takes me only one night to achieve
I turned back,
Half way to the moon
Half way back to where i started,
Where the night began.
That's very little darkroom, but still... Two photos, blended together.
One of the banana moon, and the second of the kid staring at what was the setting sun.
I had a vision of him staring at the moon, and i made in come true in "Darkroom".
The shot was taken in the Jewish holiday of "Yom Kipur", that is actully a fast.
The streest are empty from cars, and only kids on bicycles roam the streets, to enjoy the empty roads.
I hope you can feel what i was going for.

the light on the street is very strong, hard to imagine a sliver of moonlight could create that

You probably don't need another person to tell you this, but this is an amazing shot. Before I comment, quick question, you always said "darkroom" in quotes...was this done in a real darkroom or on the computer? Now for the photo...just simply breathtaking. One thing that detracts from the reality of it is the bright flare on the road but not the moon, just tips you off that the moon is not the real source of lighting. But though it does detract from the reality of it, it doesn't detract from the attractiveness or cohesiveness of it, so you probably shouldn't care (I know I wouldn't). Also great choice of subject...a childlike child is absolutely necessary, and not only the bike, but the shirt also helps to really strike that home...before we see any themes or messages, any dreams, any visions, any worries, we have to see that this kid is first and foremost a kid. Don't know if you really meant that, but it is absolutely essential to it in my mind. Also, love the tilt of the road, that makes it so much more dreamy and ephemeral. You probably were very meticulous about your placement of the moon to make it correct with the angle of the shadow. That attention to detail, even though most people will not notice it, is very important, the mark of a truly great photographer. Just wanted to let you know that I did notice it, and that even though many will not, more would notice that it was incorrect if you hadn't have done it. Great job man, keep up the superb work.
PS: Was the shirt red? For some reason, when I first saw it, the shirt looked red...am I hallucinating, or is it not 100% grayscaled.

You are right about the amount of light, and i knew that.
However, it doesn't seem to break the concept. The idea and mood are strong enough IMHO.

sorry, this has to get a thumbs down from me.
I can not see the light source which emits such an immense amount of light reflected from the street.
Also, I can see a straight, slightly grey edge where you cut the photo and inserted the black area.
It just feels wrong
