nice thought, but if you're going to mention the jews that died, you should also mention the blacks, gypsys, handicapps, ires, poles, homosexuals, and those whithout blue eyes and blonde hair. who died during the holocaust.

fair point, but this isn't a politically correct government broadcast, this his own personal artwork and it represents part of his heritage. it is not just some genralised cremoration, its something more specific and meaningful; i belive that increases its worth conciderably.

i really like this gilad. did make it, or is it something else?

I find it absurd how people are able to justify how the Holocaust never happened. I met a Holocaust survivor in person at the end of my 8th grade year. Shame I forget his name.

what is the sky in that?
and what is the figure in the background on the left?

if your goal was conveying pain in this then youve done a great job. it makes me feel the same way i would if i were to go visit a concentration camp.

Wow...very touching. Great stuff here. I love your gallery. This one reminds me of a life size tribute that I saw at the San Francisco Palace of the Legion of Honor several years ago.
"Fresh flowers memorialize "Holocaust," George Segal's life-size, sculpted scene of 11 Nazi death camp victims outside San Francisco's California Palace of the Legion of Honor."

If you haven't seen it...check it out. The tribute was very moving.

I don't think any photo will ever convey the horror of the holocaust. But I think this is a nice way to honor the memory of those who lived and died in those terrible days.

Gilad, all your photos have something special. This little something which makes things better. I know you see what I mean.
Other then the photo, this is the second time I come across that icon of the machu-picchu person. You know the person with this icon who calls this photo morbid

very strong expression
this leaves me silent, Ive been to camps before and I always came out as a different person, this is not different
I'm speechless and quiet for the rest of my day.
this is made with so much feeling and you can feel it .

A work like this can never be commented too often. Echoing the first comment isn't something I really want to do, but, those words "powerful piece" were the first that came to mind. It is tragic that such emotions have a cause for occurance. but there are no words that could ever equal the pain, suffering and horror caused by the holocaust.

Very evocative work gilad!

thank you for this. it captures my thoughts pretty well too. i remember when i was younger and visited a concentration camp in germany with my family, i could barely walk through it. when we finally left, after what seemed like a decade, i saw this rosebush outside of it, and i picked a closed bud from it, and i have kept it to remind me of that experiance. this evokes the same memories...thank you.

very interesting!

i found also interesting how many people tend to make things like this work, like escaping from reality, reality is already to much painfull.. and real..

is this some model youยดve donne? ilike the way it looks so well tought, even the blurry background, with mostly purple tones!
