NUUUU. mostly never do that.(unless when the light is very dark or ever strong....i nv tried dat but from my observation maybe...)skin is on a different layer. and later u may wanna adjust the color also can. lol...cos i m not sure about that days ago soooo hahaha i went to consult goddess nuriko LOL...

What I tried to say was if you shadow the skin on the same layer~ :3 (my english is very bad so you must got it wrong xD)

ah looool yes i always like to shadow skin on the same layer. for clothes i will shade it on different layer but after the general shading i will combine them and brush agn (β'β‘'β)οΎ

I was just wondering, in that last step do you use an overlay layer with various colors or is it done with adjustment layers in photoshop?

yes i did overlay a dark color layer and then adjust the whole pic in PS. after that i brush agn on the final flattened pic~
