I liked all three varieties of this doodle. I always desaturate my pics for a moment to make sure the values work...and sometimes I like the picture better with no color.And this doodle worked my brain, cuz I usually paint warm colors onto a cool base, rather than cool on warm like I did here.
Oh, and the characters are, as usual, my OCs. Jeremiah is very much in love with Rosemary here, who does not return the feelings. In fact he annoys her and creeps her out. She is a doctor of mutated medicine, and he is her (uncooperative) patient--AND she has to counsel him all the time. He stalks her regularly, but at least he's polite enough to let her know it. ("Oh don't mind me stalking you. You'll hardly even notice I'm there.") He's not concerned about her stalker-proofing her house, since he just invites himself on in through the pipes and drains. She can't have her water shut off forever!
Unlike OTHER fictional characters, Rosemary does not find having her own personal, handsome, dangerous stalker very romantic.

Okay, the guy totally creeps me out o_O poor Rosemary! The way he can get in her house is scary-but it makes a good story

I think the warm base works just fine here, I like how it makes Rosemary's yellow shirt stands out.

The full color version's the best, IMHO, second best has only the couch in color.

And HEAR, HEAR to your comparison with a certain other reaction to stalkerish tendencies. I've never read the story, so I can't honestly comment on the whole thing, but that part I'm with your comment.

At least Rosemary has a telltale gurgling in the pipes to let her know when her stalker is coming. Bella has...no warning whatsoever. Haha!
I really love those top and middle ones. The distribution of color totally changes the mood. The greyer ones seem more sad and nostalgic, and the colorful one seems more insistent and desperate.

This will age me, but this bit about someone "waiting in the pipes" reminds me of Fluid Man, one of the superhero characters in Hanna-Barbara's "The Impossibles" cartoon. It was about a Beatle-like rock band who would turn into super-heros: Coil Man, whose legs and arms could turn into springy coils; Multi Man, who could multiply himself into an army; and Fluid Man, who could turn into liquid and sometimes did travel by pipe to get from place to place.

Ah yes. Although I've never seen that cartoon, most of my super heroes/villains have very typical, over-used powers. (Yes, I even have one who can multiply himself, like Multi Man). But I like them that way, so I can put my own spin on them.
I actually borrowed some of these powers from Darkwing Duck cartoons I watched when I was a kid. This character's power I borrowed from "The Liquidator."
