Description
The giant dragon-like mech- Metal Overlord- crumbled to a million pieces as bits of metal and wires flew everywhere before falling through the sky. Out of it flew the organic body that had once slept distressed in his metal shell as his "master" ordered him around.

The body was scarred and bruised, but he didn't mind. His eyes were dull, and he closed them lightly as he felt the wind brush through his quills and against his aching body. It felt good to feel it again, something he loved, before he would accept his death which drew ever so close. As he fell, he felt something grab his wrist and he looked up weakly. It was the version of him from this timeline... The fool! What is he doing?!

"Don't worry, Buddy! I gotcha!" The ever so laid back yet friendly voice chimed, giving him a wink and a confident thumbs up, paired with a warm smile. The abused soul felt tears escape his eyes as they flew into the air. He opened his mouth to speak.

"Why... Why are you doing this...?" The damaged hero asked in a weak, trembling voice. Sonic did not break his smile, and looked even more chipper than before.

"You looked like you needed to be saved!"

Metal's captor shut his mouth and closed his eyes again, but this time... he felt a faint smile creep onto his face for the first time... In a long time...
