Description I just realized that I never uploaded this one here. Quilling was something I always wanted to give a try and as soon as you have a logo you always have something you can do in this or that medium
Needed lots of needles - being a complete noob and such - and it was a bit challenging because I had no real idea of what I was doing. But thanks to the internet I managed to get this done somehow.

Quilling is fun, but when you go for unusual shapes also a bit time consuming - or maybe more practice is needed. No matter what is is a nice way to create lovely things for decoration and to fancify gifts etc.

And you ask me about steady hands?

It's more about patience if you do something like this. There is not that much that can go wrong here, just takes a little while and you need a good glue.

Ahh, that's brilliant! Quilling seems difficult.

It's not that difficult as you usually work with basic shapes and just modify them. But of course it takes some patience and can be quite frustrating at some parts

This is really cool. When I find hand-crafted trivets that are full of those little curls, are those quilling? I've been seeing them for years.

Hm, not sure. Quilling is usually always done with paper - as far as I know. It might be some kind of quilling though, just with different material.
Basically quilling is furled (hope that is the right word) paper combined in various ways.

Furled is the right word (I'm still trying to think of the word for the "open" ornaments you create, since open window isn't it). The trivets I've seen are made with plastic strips, so perhaps it is just something similar.

Recently I read/heard that quilling is kind of some ancient art form. I am sure it was done with different media than just paper in that case
