And the next more complex tutorial that was laying around for a longer time already. I'm not really satisfied with it and there have been more tutorials planned- showing you the stuff that need to be done next etc- but um.. dunno. Maybe later. If anyone want's that template, let me know, still not coded yet
The zip file is about 3MB big.
I've added:
- the walkthrough pdf (13 pages!)
- the original sized screenshots
Hope that this will help to understand of how to create a journal layout. But keep in mind: it's my way and just one way of doing it. Others might work different. It just should give you a feeling of what needs to be done in general.
I have to thank my beta readers, who took the time to hunt down my grammar/english mistakes and gave me hints where i should add some more stuff.

will this help even if i dont have a subscription?!?! i want to change how my journal looks but i dont know how to do it. i know about html & css but am not sure if it works

Well it will help to create a journal layout, but it won't help to code a journal. And you can't use CSS for free dA accounts. You will need a Premium Account if you want to customize your journals.

I guess, it just depends on the layout itself
And if you aren't able to use layers you have to create every graphic in an extra file.

well basically you can cover the coding of the particular journal you designed on that tutorial. So it will be like the second part - the coding part - of this one.
You can also make that coding tutorial in question for intermediate users. Novice users can learn the basics from other tutorials on dA.

This file won't work when I download it

Do you get any error or does nothing happen? You are the first person that has problems with it

Well I downloaded it and at first it wanted to open as an Adobe Acrobat Reader file, then it wanted to open it as a Photoshop file the second time. I got error messages for both, but the wierd thing is that it was opening fine before on Adobe Acrobat Reader.
