You tried to grip the ball with your long, red, acrylic nails. You'd had a pretty good game but you had no idea how the girls threw the ball with these. You get the fumble under control just in time an throw to first base. You win the game.

You're mobbed and hugged by your teammates, the girls celebrating as the other team walks off the field.

'We only have 8 players and none of the other girls can make it.' Your friend had said first thing that morning when she rung you. 'I'm desperate!'

Her baseball team was a player short and she needed someone to fill in. You jumped at the chance. You loved playing and the men's season had finished two weeks ago, you were desperate to get a game.

'Thank you so much! I owe you big time!' She said. 'Come to mine before so we can get ready and then I'll drive us to the game.'

When you arrived at her house, she took you upstairs to her room. She was already in her uniform and looked ready to play. You asked why you needed to come so early for her to get ready if she's already dressed.

'It's to get you ready. Take a seat.' She gestured to her small vanity table in the corner of the room.

'I may have forgotten to mention it's a girl's only league and men aren't allowed to play. We need to disguise you.'

You tried to protest but she begs. 'I'm sorry, you're the only person I could think of and we need you!'

Before you could agree or disagree, she started covering you in foundation. She grabbed a red lipstick and came at you but you pulled away. You've been to loads of her games and none of the girls wore makeup, why did you need to?

'But you're not just any other girl. We need you to look as girly as possible so the other team don't figure out that you're a guy. That means makeup, nails, a wig. Also, you need to shave all your body hair. It's that or get exposed as a guy wearing a wig trying to cheat in a girl's baseball game. Now, can I do your lipstick?'

You leaned towards her and let her put the lipstick on you. A full-face of makeup followed, false eyelashes, false nails and a long brunette wig secured in place by the team's hat. You looked in the mirror and barely recognise yourself. You tied your hair up into a ponytail.

You were nervous every time you walked past one of the opposition players, scared they'd realise you're an imposter. However, as the game went on you grew in confidence. You completely passed as a girl and were the only player on the field with a face of flawless makeup. You felt more confident and feminine with each play you made. The ball flying out of your perfectly manicured hand, your long ponytail flapping as you ran across the diamond, your deep red smile after every good moment.

After you got the final out the team kept celebrating on their way into the locker room. As things calmed down you asked for some makeup wipes. You take the wig off and hand it to your friend.

'Actually, we've got two months of our season left and you won't have a game for the men's team until next summer so I was wondering...' She holds the wig back out to you. 'Would you like to play for us every week?'

You think about it for a moment. You smile and place the wig back on your head before covering it with your ball cap. You grab the tube of red lipstick in her bag.
