I totally want to read this book now, this is so cool. The whale...It's like when you see something super amazing and you can't tell whether its a bad thing or a good thing so you just watch.

actually, in the story it was a crocodile XD but that part of the story gave me inspiration for this drawing.

actually in the book, what the main character saw was a crocodile instead of cute whale -_-;

thank you, i was inspired by some part of "number nine dream" where suddenly it rained really heavy and tokyo was submerged under water, then from a diner's window a crocodile swam across ... i find crocodile a bit too scary for me, so i use friendly blue whale XD

cheap aquarelle pencils and ink ^^
i wanted to make a cute whale. i use reference for the the big window and the background. glad you like this coz i like it too a lot!

it's another name for water-soluble pencil colors. i use LUNA (6 colors) ... cheap but great colors and easy to blend^^

Ah, watercolour pencils I'm doing some work with them at the moment. They really suit this piece so good material choice there.
