I'm legit obsessed with these two. I've got such big plans for them.

"I told ya you'd like it,” Grant gloated with a dopey smile, resting his chin in his hand. "Man, I ain't ever seen a guy inhale food that fast.”

"Guess I was hungrier than usual…” Finn chuckled, polishing off his plate. "You barely touched yours though. You feeling alright?”

"Hah, yeah… I don't really need to eat,” Grant glanced down at his food. "Here, you'd make better use of it anyhow.”

Finn reluctantly took the plate. "I think this might be the first crack in your confidence I've seen.”

"Hmph. Maybe I'm just good at hiding my nerves,” Grant shrugged, his eyes drifting a bit. "I haven't been on a date in, hell, like over two years now. I'm rusty.”

"That's… surprising,” Finn replied, his mouth full again. "You seem the like the kind of guy who'd have no trouble with that.”

"I mean I guess, yeah,” Grant replied with a low sigh. "I dunno, I could always get a date before, but nothing ever worked out. I guess I attract the wrong kind of guy or somethin'. Just got tired of it all.” He shook his head, looking up. "So an old friend told me, ‘just let them come to you for once, Grant. Be patient. Wait for a… for a sign, instead of seeking it out so damn much.'"

Finn smiled. "That's good advice."

"Yeah. Well I mean it didn't really help so much with the the whole gettin' dates thing,” Grant laughed. "But it did give me the freedom to focus on myself for a while, y'know? Stop tryin' to please everyone else. Did me a lotta good.”

"Except after two years of waiting, you probably deserve something a little more than this eh?” Finn joked, gesturing at himself.

"Hey. You questionin' my taste in guys?” Grant retorted with a wink.

The two laughed and smiled at each other for a moment.

"Really though, I can't remember the last time someone asked me out. It was a real nice surprise.”

Grant blushed, looking away. "What can I say... Seein' you again just kinda felt like one of those signs he was talkin' about. It felt right.

"Yeah. It does."

Grant grinned, his confidence returning. "So let's get you some dessert, eh?"
