Tree Spirit. Every day for as long as I can remember I’ve walked past a house with a gnarled tree twisting its way up to the roof. Often it suffered the indignity of bad pruning but its spirit remained strong and new branches replaced those amputated, Yesterday, instead of just observing, I sketched part of the trunk and included the spirit which kept it strong.
