Description
the man...toward the heights of the tower of ivory he climbed,
rising on his waxen wings;
aiming for the heavens,
he swore to make great his name.
a plan both great in aim and folly,
for divinity is not in accomplished feat.
the crux...
his young body tired, he anxiously gasped for air
as the staples of his wings weakened.
earthen bricks,
the foundation of his civilization,
of his tower, of reason,
began to corrupt and crumble.
the fall...
alas, progress refused to come with his struggles.
one last futile pump of the crude wings,
and he tore them from his back.
amidst the agony and fear, for an instant,
he lay completely still. peace.
and then he fell...

I'm a little disappointed that he wasn't actually shown to be falling towards earth from space as that was how I first saw it.

At first this was a photo-manipulation where he was falling off of earth but it turns out that it's just an amazing shot. Right-side up would have looked nice too but I'm glad you turned it upside-down, it's so much cooler that way.

it's so weird...the phrase "and then she fell" kept popping into my head for no reason all the time, and then i came on here and saw this!! how very strange.
It's an amazing picture though...It really looks like she (or he?) is falling to Earth. The sky looks amazing too, like the sphere of the planet. It's so damn clever.
