Installing and Using Lilith Player --> [link]
Someone asked, and Hika provided. Rather clumsily too. XD;;
A tutorial on how to make a simple face for Lilith Player. I'm a coding beginner so this is about as much as I know about making custom faces for Lilith Player. TvT;; I apologize if it's not much.
If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them O3O;; I'm not very good though, so I can't guarantee being able to provide the answer for every question TwT;;
Lilith Faces are faaar easier to make and prepare compared to FLELE shells, and they're also really flexible and highly customizable >v<;; If this tutorial can help more people produce their own faces for their Lilith Player it'd make Hika really happy.
Please do tell me if you've made a face too >u//

I tried but it still didn't work, I mean, I'm new to photoshop and all and when you said "second expression line", then I have to draw the eyes and mouth for "paint over" later or I have to crop the face part and fix the details? I know I'm being a pain in the ass here but could your screencap every of your steps when doing that second face part for me? Oh and by the way, you draw your picture on the paper and scan it or you draw it on Sai directly? And with mouse or a tablet?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
glaceau In reply to Ruyuha [2011-07-12 13:19:08 +0000 UTC]
Whoaa erm... I could do the screencap thing but all of my faces have more or less been flattened so I'm not sure how much that will help you XD;;; Give me a bit of time whilst I tidy something up? TvT;;
And er... I do all of my Lilith faces directly on Sai. With a tablet of course, I'm rubbish with a mouse ahaha.

Uhmn, I'm sorry to bother but when you have two facial expressions like that, it means you use two different picture or two facial expression layers in PS? Since I still didn't figure how to separate those two facial parts when I flatten the image and I think may be you should show me the way to paint the second facial expression on the same image? *Urghhh I sound so dumb right now=__________=*

glaceau In reply to Ruyuha [2011-07-11 04:23:21 +0000 UTC]
ah erm... OwO;; it's easier if you just use two seperate layers on the same file...?
I... don't really know how to explain how to paint the second facial expression on... TvT Hopefully this will make sense...
The layers should be something like this:
- Other lineart (hair, clothes etc)
- Second expression lines
- Paintover layer
- First expression lines
- All the other colours here
On the paintover layer you literally just... "paint over" the first expression with a skin tone OwO;; (It helps if you draw both expressions on a seperate layer to the actual lineart.)
After that you "colour in the eyes/mouth and shade in the face" like you usually would in a CG.
Then you can flatten "second expression lines" with "paintover layer" so it's now just one layer you can show and hide with one click.
This way you can er... use the save as option without needing to flatten...?
OTL does that make sense?

Okay, everything I wrote is far too complicated. I figured out a simpler way of saying it. Ignore all that and just read this one. Sorry.
The playlist and next buttons are working as play/pause buttons, but only when the music is playing. When it's not playing they just don't work. Likewise, when the music is playing the original play/pause button doesn't work.
There we go.
...Help? Other than that, the entire thing is set to go and I wanna show my bro soon.

I'm really really really sorry for the late reply omg OTL
I was out travelling for a really long time and I didn't really have any internet access =m=;;; Just got back and finally managed to get online...
Erm hmm... the only thing I can think of at the moment is that... are the playlist/next/play/pause buttons really close to each other? Like, do they happen to overlap? OmO??

Wind-Bandit [2011-06-07 20:35:45 +0000 UTC]
Oh wait no problem.
I fixed the play button so it's properly located, and I can click it to start the player, but if I click it again the playlist and next buttons only work as the play/pause button- they have the bubble that says play/pause but they still look the same- and the original play/pause button doesn't work or even appear at all. And the Back button shifts up a bit. About half the time that Lilith's not playing, the next and playlist buttons have the play/pause label, but they work normally. Help?

Thank you for showing this tutorial! I'll share the faces or something once I'm done~.

how do u find the x, y, values and stuff, also i already use photoshop and i know where to find it, not how to use it though

glaceau In reply to cold-ice-trio [2011-04-09 03:01:44 +0000 UTC]
mm you know how to find the x and y values of a point right? ovoa
Basically you want to hold your pointer to the top left corner of the part of the picture you're going to "cut out" as a button and note down that number. OwO
Most of the time you can just use trial and error and tweak the values till the piece fits nicely though... it shouldn't be too much of a problem if you don't use photoshop to find the numbers OvOaa
Also sorry for the late reply TvT;;!

(Ur US UK drawing is so cute!!)
(By the way, I don't know if this might help anyone, but I think the reason the blue outline that's supposed to be transparent in the picture shows it's because the border it's "feathered")

*snatches tut and sits in ArtRage thinking of a face*
I have one question though :0
Is there any way of keeping it in front of windows like FLELEs? o3o
It makes me very sad to know that all the cute is right behind my internet window and i can't stare at it all the time OTL
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
glaceau In reply to LordPann [2010-12-01 03:12:00 +0000 UTC]
Yes there is a way C:
If you right click on your player, there will be an option in the right-column called ๆๅ้ขใซ่กจ็คบ. If your computer cannot decode japanese and you see weird symbols instead, it's the 4th option from the bottom on the right column, just above ่จญๅฎ(T) (I suppose the (T) will still show even if the japanese gets messed up? orz).
If you click on that option a tick will appear next to it and it should make the player appear in front of your windows at all times C:

I went to read that you resorted to saving the image as a transparent .png in the end but here's something that might have caused the transparent option to fail OvO;;;
...trying my best to be helpful even though you guys figured it out anyway...
Technically even if you don't save an image as transparent, Lilith's code should technically make the top leftmost pixel's colour into the transparent pixel...
What I found out was that sometimes when I resize the image file, there is a very, very, very subtle difference in colour that happens 1px around the image like a border... >_>;;; This makes Lilith turn that colour transparent, but not the rest of the bg.
If that happens it helps to resize the image first (don't flatten), then fill in the bg colour that you want to make transparent with a solid paint-bucket tool to be safe. ovo!

Hey there OvO;; Sorry for the late reply, things came up and all that...
I'm sorry but it's a little... difficult for me to judge anything with that one error message... orz (And it's doing the weird encoding thing...
When did this occur? Do you have all the images placed in the same folder as the code?
