Well, I think you're right about the border, it would probably benefit from a wider one. About the diagonal line though . . . for some reason that would just feel too "perfect", I don't really like perfect symmetry or when things match up perfectly. But like you said that's a personal opinion.
Thanks for the critique I wish I got comments like this more often.

Goodness! Beautiful work! All the detail has me lost, spiraling down into the depths of the fractalspace. Very unconventional!

A beauty I love how the parts relate: sometimes continuity over the major lines, sometimes not

Thanks man! This was just one of those fortunate discoveries that can only happen by a bit of experimentation (which is the only way I know how to work since I only have an inkling of the mathematics involved).

I vaguely understand the process, but I could never use the knowledge to predict an outcome. Like you, I find experimentation (plus tutorials, tips, flame packs etc.) to be the finest way to explore the capabilities

Awesome! Appears slightly dark in the upper right hand corner. But the piece still blends well together.

Yes, the dark area was intentional, however I didn't want it to be quite that dark. Sometimes the light and dark areas can be very difficult to balance out.
Thanks for the feedback!
