Description
Commission for of Elias literally buried under the pile of legal shenanigans that ultimately nixed Elias from Archie Sonic. Can you say "metaphorical"?Related content

You guys might wanna watch this before you pass judgment at least get both sides of the story. And given what I know but Archie and their practice's I'm leaning towards Ken being in the right and The only hope we have for getting the old comics back.

There was once a Time
When the comics were in their Prime...
Writers wrote for Fans
Idea's always in their Hands
Pens were thier sword and Shield
For heroes on the battle Field
The glory days for Archie Sonic
Even if some times were so Chronic
But then came the time of legal Laws
All lost for Penders Cause
Soon to be Lost
It was the gravest Cost
Characters loved by All
Sadly saw their curtain Call
Thought lost in Comics
Their presence was so Atomic
Although we GrieveΒ
We're inspired to Believe
The F.F never hit Zero
For it was the true genesis of a Hero

The whole thing.Β I miss the whole thing.Β Β But no, really, I think Julie-Su might be at the top of the list, or the entirety of team Chaotix, for that matter.Β You know what I mean?Β I just liked their dynamic: Knuckles, Su, Mighty, Ray, Vector, Espio, Charmy.Β And Saffron.Β And Archimedes too.Β I enjoyed their banter; they were a very diverse group of characters and stories; and Knuckles himself had such a convoluted, dynamic storyline (well, maybe a little too out there in some parts, but whatevs--also, I miss Lara-Lee...and Locke).Β So, when you ask what characters I miss the most, I would say the Chaotix, because their personalities just weren't the same in any other iteration.Β There were still some nice stories with them after the reboot, but it wasn't the same.
That, and, speaking of Elias, I do miss him as well.Β Personally, I got really hyped over the Secret Freedom Fighters and their arc, perhaps because I'm just a sucker for that kind of 'underground' storyline, but yeah: Shard, Leeta, Lyco...they finally got cool characterization, and then we lost it.Β Would have loved to see that go on further.
And lastly, Hope Kintobor.Β Hadn't seen her in forever in the storyline, and I would have loved for her to be developed more than she was, but I loved her all the same.Β That, and on the previous note, I miss the way Shadow was.Β The comics more than anything else, in my opinion, developed him as a dynamic character and portrayed beautifully him coming to terms with his identity and his past.Β It makes me hate it when he's portrayed as just 'that angsty anti-hero guy'.Β Which the recent games seem to love to do...Β
So yeah, ranting aside!Β The Archie Sonic comics have a special place in my heart.Β It was the first thing with a real story line that I got into, and the first fandom I was ever a part of.Β Sadly, it may be gone for good, but these stories will still hold a special place in my heartΒ Β

Honestly, most of the characters in the older continuity felt really superfluous to me. Either that or they weren't as interesting or engaging as they should've been.
But I will admit that there are a few that I actually do sorely miss; mainly Mina Mongoose, Hope Kintobor, Beauregard Rabbot, Matilda, and Dr. Finitevous. And for characters that I initially disliked but wound up liking anyhow thanks to Ian's writing: Elias, Monkey Kahn, and Scourge. Each of them actually struck a positive chord with me and theyΒ providedΒ interesting roles in the stories they participated in. Seeing them removed was pretty heart-wrenching.
And now with the comic officially canceled, I might as well add most of the Reboot characters to that list as well. Indeed, it seems like this poor comic could never catch a break.

I miss most of the characters - I have mixed feelings for most of the Guardian echidnas. I wasn't too crazy for Scourge and I kinda wished that I followed up with the Shard stories.
Who I actually missed the most was the original Dr. Robotnik and he bit it waaaaay back in issue #50, and again in the Director's Cut of issue #50.

I'm the heretic who regarded the whole comics-verse as completely non-canon and non-sonic... and generally kind of ridiculous.

I miss so many of them, it's hard to pick one. I guess my top ones would be: Elias, Shard, and Scourge.

I can't say who I miss the most - they all made the comic so special. Yes, Ken is a...you know the word, but there's no denying he created some unforgettable characters that helped shape the comic to what it is.
I feel that Kneecaps had a too early demise. Not counting his teenage self he only appeared in four issues (139-41 and 186)
He was created by Karl Bollers, so he would have had a chance. Mmmh, that's an idea for an interesting alternative ending to Endangered Species:
Kneecaps, crying in terror at being taken away from his parents, whacks Thrash with his rattle and escapes his grip, clambering out of the Warp Ring. Knuckles finds him there later, still crying, and takes him to an infirmary where he meets Athair, who helps Knuckles raise his brother. Finitevus (also created by Karl Bollers) appears; initially Knuckles is concerned, however, he sees the doctor isn't looking evil and sadistic but rather sad and resolute. He asks for Knuckles' help, suggesting that they need to stay together now that so many of them have been exiled.
Only plot hole: what would distract Thrash from the escaping Kneecaps?

True, but even the Karl Boller characters got nixed because "Sega wants to avoid creators who no longer work on the Archie series to follow in Ken Penders' footsteps and take Archie to court for using characters they created, and thus, could see it as unauthorized use."

Dimitri/Enerjak most of all, following Locke, Lara-Le, Julie-Su, Kragok, Lien-Da, Remington, and Gala-Na
I can go on about why I'm content with what happened- let's just say that I found greater satisfaction in fan works (like yours ) than official comics anyway.

Julie-Su.Β I mean, jeez, we're watching all the main characters obtain their memories pre-reboot and Knuckles doesn't get in on it, so she's completely forgotten.Β That's just cold.
