STH #241: Eggman tries to shake Team Fighters off his trail while the Death Egg soars over Mercia. He empowers Titan Metal Sonic with a Krudzu sprig and deploys it, but Sonic destroys the robot with a spin dash and it crashes into water.

For those of you suspected it was Shard on page 4 , all I can say is.... lucky guess. Shard's presence at Albion is a remnant from the rewrite of Endangered Species. After the story was butchered and the echidnas hurriedly nixed from the picture, Shard showed up to help Team Fighters against Metal Knuckles. Even though Shard justifies this as a mission from Harvey Who in Endangered Species, his surveillance is purely superficial in Sonic Retold when Team Fighters can pull through on their own. Regardless, I decided to keep Shard in the scene because he originally proposed a means to deroboticize Sally with the Krudzu. Here, I rearranged things so that Silver is the one who comes up with the idea and suggests it to Shard. It's a subtle change that's meant to show how Sonic Retold still follows the original timeline, but adds a small twist to it. Giving responsibility of the Krudzu to Silver enlarges his role in the story while saving Shard's role for a separate plotline later. Small tidbit: since it's morning in Albion, you can see it's still night in New Mobotropolis. That's time zones, folks.

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed the story so far. I'm taking a break next week for the holidays, so the next page will be up on New Year's Day. However, Patreon donators can get their page on Christmas Day!
