[STH #118] - Mammoth Mogul threatened Dimitri's life to lure Chaos Knuckles into a syphon chamber. Chaos Knuckles expelled all his energy to overload the syphon and defeat Mammoth Mogul, but at the cost of his own life. With Aurora's guidance, he later learned how to use Chaos energy to return from the afterlife.

[STH #93] - When the roboticized General D'Coolette went berserk in Albion, the latent Chaos energy inside Knuckles fully manifested itself, transforming him into the green Chaos Knuckles. Gala-Na saw him as a threat and recruited the weasels to capture him, where Yanar took him prisoner. This event also led to Dr. Finitevus gaining his powers by attempting to syphon Chaos Knuckles' energy.

[STH #182] - After absorbing a measure of Chaos Knuckles' powers, Dr. Finitevus betrayed his own race and allied himself with Dr. Eggman. Gala-Na called for Finitevus' execution, but he triumphed by leading Eggman's fleet into destroying Albion.

Well, look who's back! Bet you all forgot about Yanar, eh? He hasn't been seen in the comics in twenty years since the Chaos Knuckles arc. It's been speculated that he perished in the Egg Grapes, but his fate was never officially confirmed. His appearances were brief but meaningful and he ended up developing a friendship with Knuckles. Considering the hostile reaction Knuckles' return received in Albion, it's nice to find a friendly face among them. I also took this opportunity to revise Yanar's character design, since I didn't want him to return in that caveman frock he usually wears. I kept the furs and blended them with some design cues from Albion's soldiers. I think it's a good look for him.
