It's a little strange seeing the Brotherhood referred to as Knuckle's "brothers" when they're all ancestors of his. ...Actually come to think of it, it's rather strange they even named themselves the Brotherhood when their relationships were almost always son/father/grandfather/etc.

Something that was so value about the original comic was the theme about the equidnas brotherhood and Knuckles place on it. And the theme of the Locke death and how if affect to Knucles. It’s so good than you touch that points in your comic
The angry and the frustration than Knuckles feels it’s so clear in the firsts panels and in the previous page. I can feel the wish than he has to give value to himself doing something than his father would do. But the real point is than Knuckles wanted to found something than silence the guilty than he feel since the Enerjak problem. He is doing that he does because he wants to forgive himself.
Also, I like than he speack about it with Julie su, because she is someone with he feels confort to be simply honest to express than his interest from Haven is just a way to be connect with his Legacy and his father.
In other side, Julie su show to be a good friend to understand than what Knucles really need is to heal himself doing facts than satisfied his roll in the brotherhood as The Guardian, and she gives him an option than he could handle without been hurt (at less, in an emotional way)
The chemistry between them is very good as a couple and consistent with their relation seen in the comics, and the dialogue makes than the “kiss” has sense.
By de way, the shooting in the 6th panel and the other star shining between them is a very lovely touch, i don’t feel than it must been “necessary” for the argument but to my romantic side we’re perfect!
Im also enjoying than the comic touch more plots besides “Mecha Sally” (I’m not going to lie, that plot is that I most want to see result) but it’s good than it doesn’t be the ONLY one.

You touch upon Knuckles' feelings quite well, Flordeoro. He must be feeling pretty low after his ordeal as Energak and losing his kinsmen. I feel this is a good starting point for his character to try and recover from - with the help of a girl like Julie-Su.

At least now we know what he was trying to do (not that I had any doubts, but it's nice for my suspicions to be confirmed). Julie-Su is such a realist that it's hilarious, but it also gives Knuckles a chance to face possibilities he'd rather not admit. She's a pretty good match for him at moments like this, though personally I never found her that interesting of a character. If you can make her an attractive personality with depth rather than the posterchild for modern feminism, please try.
Wait a sec... Didn't Scourge super-charge his warp ring just by touching it to the Master Emerald then use it to reach Moebius? Doesn't seem that difficult. Though I suppose he has to think of the idea.

Scourge worked for Finitevus, so it stands to reason he would have learned a few tricks on how to use Warp Rings to travel between zones. It's already been established in Sonic #232 that Knuckles and Julie-Su don't possess that knowledge, so the Brotherhood is out of their reach in the Twilight Cage. Speaking of the Brotherhood, they haven't really been featured in the comics since way back in Sonic #107. Their last stand in Sonic #139 (a single panel) was at the Master Emerald chamber when they tried to fight off the dingo regime. I guess they never had much presence after the Knuckles comics ended. Ken Penders was their lead writer and Ian Flynn didn't even make an attempt to reintroduce the Brotherhood during his tenure. A shame, because they were an enduring part of Knuckles' rich heritage. You can see how much they mean to him.
About Julie-Su, as recently as a few days ago I hadn't really thought of much of a character arc for her in the comic. Even though she's been extensively developed in the Knuckles comics, she's in danger of being limited to the 'supportive girlfriend' archetype. However, I've been giving more thought to her place in the story and how she plays off Dimitri, whom I'm sure she distrusts after he left her side to join Eggman in capturing Knuckles in STH #181. We also know that she has history with her half-sister Lien-Da. If you have your own ideas to give Julie-Su "an attractive personality with depth", I'm all ears. The script isn't fully written yet, so I welcome any suggestions.

If memories serve correctly, didn't a character called Thrash the Devil, a Tasmanian Devil, banish most of the Echidna's with some magic portal ring or something before the Genesis wave in the original timeline. If so, will things go differently for your continuation?

That wasn't an oversight. I didn't want Knuckles to be a blackface for the whole scene, so the ash gradually fades on its own over a few panels. You see this sort of thing in cartoons all the time where one character gets a face full of soot/paint/custard pie, but it's gone in the next shot.

lol, lazy, excuses excuses
I'm not saying full black face like last page, I'm saying similarly to what he looks like in the first panel of this page where he has small burns and charring just on the tips of quills and upper-face. It should be kept throughout the entire scene and revert back to normal when the scene changes to indicate passing of time.
Alternatively you could have depicted knuckles brushing the dust off with his arm or elbow before reverting him to normal
